What is the duration of the program?The immersion program lasts ten days and includes an eleven-hour direct flight from New York to Accra, Ghana. There is an opportunity to extend the program for a month.

Is the program physically demanding?While the program includes some physical activity, such as walking and light manual labor during community service projects, it is designed to be accessible to most individuals with a moderate level of fitness.

Are there scholarships or financial aid available?We offer a limited number of partial scholarships based on financial need and merit. Please inquire for more information.

What is the cost of the program, and what does it include?The program fee covers round-trip airfare from a designated U.S. city, accommodations, in-country transportation, meals, guided tours, and all program activities. It also includes a contribution to the community service projects.

What are the accommodations like?Participants will stay in comfortable, safe accommodations that reflect the local culture and provide opportunities for interaction with the community.

What cultural experiences can I expect?Participants will be immersed in Ghanaian culture, starting with a meeting with the Paramount Chief and local elders. They will explore the city, observing its architecture, farming practices, and various livelihoods. Additionally, participants will have the chance to visit sites such as Cape Coast, Elmina Castle, Kumasi, Mole National Park, Akosombo Dam, Independence Square, government ministries, Flagstaff House, Aburi Gardens, and Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.

What vaccinations or health precautions are required or recommended?We recommend consulting with your healthcare provider or a travel clinic for the most up-to-date information on vaccinations and health precautions for travel to Ghana.

What are the eligibility requirements?Must have a valid passport (6 months before the day of the trip is considered valid). Groups are preferred, but individuals are welcome to inquire.
